Role Description The Associate Attorney will work full-time on-site in Surfside Beach, SC, supporting the firm’s real estate, business, and estate planning practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing transactional documents, preparing and conducting real estate closings, assisting with entity formation and business agreements, and supporting estate planning matters such as wills, trusts, and related documents. The role involves providing clear legal advice to clients, communicating status updates, and coordinating closely with staff to ensure matters move forward efficiently and accurately. The Associate Attorney will conduct legal research, analyze risk, and help negotiate terms in transactions while maintaining high standards of professionalism, client service, and ethical practice.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to real estate, business, and estate planning.
- Experience providing Legal Advice, including explaining options, risks, and next steps in a clear, client-centered manner.
- Proficient in legal Research to support transactional work, document preparation, and issue spotting across practice areas.
- Skilled in Negotiation, particularly in real estate and business transactions, to help clients achieve practical and favorable outcomes.
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law is beneficial for advising business clients on workforce-related matters.
- Active (or pending) license to practice law in South Carolina.
