What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fence Staining Crew Member position at Neighborly Fence Staining?
Position Summary:
The Crew Member serves a vital role in our successful completion of fence staining and other projects. This role is to do whatever is necessary to help the Crew Leader complete the job on time. Initially, the technical skills of painting and using the paint sprayer are not necessary, as they will be developed over time. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Unloading and loading the vehicle
- Plugging in the extension cord strategically and extending it to the ideal initial placement of the paint sprayer
- Carrying buckets of paint
- Carrying drop cloths
- Hand brushing certain areas at the direction of the Crew Leader
- Setting up and priming the paint sprayer
- Moving rocks away from the base of the posts, so the Crew Leader can spray all the way down to the dirt
- Moving rocks back so the posts look nice
- Laying drop cloths on the other side of the fence to protect landscaping
- Holding up cardboard in order to protect plants or a house
- Sweeping the yard before leaving site to ensure no trash is left behind
- Learning to use the paint sprayer under supervision of the Crew Leader
- Clean the paint sprayer by pumping water through it
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers.
- Adapt to changes in project scope or conditions with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the company’s reputation for quality, reliability, and friendliness.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various environments.
- Providing quotes, if applicable
- Hanging flyers on door handles
- Pressure washing
- Any other duties at the direction of the Crew Leader or Supervisor
Qualifications and Skills:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability to climb over 4 foot fence
- Reliable form of transportation
- Ability to read and interpret maps and residential quotes.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various environments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $15.50 - $23.00 per hour
