Position Summary
The HR Generalist is the on-site Human Resources representative responsible for implementing Company policies, supporting local leadership, and ensuring consistent and compliant HR operations. This role manages core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits support, payroll accuracy, employee relations, and HR administration. The HR Generalist partners closely with the Sub-Regional HR Manager and the Central USA HR team to ensure alignment with national standards and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Key Responsibilities
- HR Operations & Compliance
- Enforce and administer HR policies, processes, and procedures at the site.
- Ensure consistent application of the employee handbook and Company policies.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Conduct or support workplace investigations with guidance from Regional or Central HR.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
- Recruitment & Selection
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to create job postings, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and support selection decisions.
- Coordinate background checks, onboarding requirements, and pre-employment documentation.
- Support workforce planning and staffing forecasts.
- Onboarding & Offboarding
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure all onboarding documentation is completed accurately.
- Partner with operations and leadership to ensure new employees receive an effective and structured onboarding experience.
- Conduct offboarding and exit interviews, ensuring compliance and documentation.
- Payroll & Timekeeping Support
- Review and validate timecards for accuracy, including hours worked, overtime, and attendance issues.
- Coordinate with payroll to resolve discrepancies.
- Process employee changes and updates in HR systems.
- Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as the on-site HR point of contact for employees and supervisors.
- Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting issues, and coaching leaders on policy application.
- Promote a positive work environment and help resolve workplace concerns in partnership with Central HR.
- Benefits Administration
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general inquiries.
- Provide on-site support during open enrollment and benefits-related communications.
- Coordinate with Central HR and benefits administrators as needed.
- Training, Safety & Performance Support
- Track and support completion of mandatory training (HR, safety, compliance, operations).
- Work with operations leadership to reinforce performance expectations, communication, coaching, and accountability.
- Assist with performance reviews and corrective action processes.

- Recruitment (staffing levels, time-to-fill, new hires)

- Work closely with the Central USA HR Team to ensure alignment on processes, compliance, and initiatives.
- Support corporate and regional HR projects, audits, and continuous improvement work.
- Partner with site operations to strengthen leadership capability, improve communication, and enhance overall people performance.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent in education and experience.
- 2–4 years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, logistics, or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS, ATS, and timekeeping systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
