Neel-Schaffer seeks applications from experienced, qualified applicants for the position of Senior Project Manager – Transportation to work in our Huntsville or Birmingham, AL, offices.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in designing highway/roadway corridors, interchanges, roadway widening, and intersection safety improvements, for the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Project Management experience is also required for this position.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer, with capability of becoming licensed in Alabama within 6 months if not already licensed in the state.
15-plus years of progressive transportation/roadway design experience on transportation projects, including schematic development, preparation of plans, specifications and estimates.
Experience leading and managing design staff when needed.
Experience in roadway plan production, OpenRoads Designer, corridor modeling, template creation, importing/displaying alignment data and creating cross sections.
Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MicroStation V8i SS2, V8i SS10 and/or OpenRoads Designer (preferred).
Familiar with ALDOT Standards, AASHTO Green Book, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, ADA, PROWAG, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Valid driver’s license.
