Position Title: Rainbow Bridge Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Rainbow Bridge/Star Equine Program
Schedule: The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Position Summary:
The Rainbow Bridge Supervisor will assist the Director of Rainbow Bridge/Star Equine Program with the development, implementation, and direct supervision of the Rainbow Bridge team. This employee will ensure that best practices continue to provide an excellent private cremation service to clients, while maintaining a steady revenue stream.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise, mentor, recognize, and assist Rainbow Bridge staff daily to ensure quality in the daily operations of the Rainbow Bridge program.
- Ensure the cremation facility meets all health, safety, and regulatory requirements (EPA, OSHA).
- Assist in scheduling staff.
- Assist with racking and ordering of all necessary urns/containers and office supplies.
- Perform data entry of customer intake, online orders, as well as payments received and payments due.
- Assist with interviewing, assessing, hiring, coaching, and carrying out discipline for the Rainbow Bridge staff.
- Work with the Director of Rainbow Bridge/Star Equine regarding annual performance evaluations for the department.
- Communicat with dissatisfied clients or veterinarians to resolve conflicts by working towards a positive outcome.
- Ensure crematoriums, vehicles, and other equipment are in safe working order.
- Provide staff support in daily operations with the Director of Rainbow Bridge/Star Equine Program is not on-site.
- Work with the EVP of Shelter Operations and/or HR for situations that arise when the Director is unavailable.
- Assist with special events/speaking events as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience including hiring and delivering disciplinary actions.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal welfare field, or pet crematorium/funeral home, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new programs.
- Experience working with Chameleon, preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and be able to provide proof of vehicle insurance.
- Strong knowledge of city streets.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Be comfortable and skilled working with a culturally diverse staff and community.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Affection for animals, concern for their welfare and willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
- Must possess maturity, good judgment, professional manner, and personal appearance.

Work Conditions

- Minimum of 40 hours per week. Evening, weekend and holiday hours may be required.
- Must be available to work special events.
- The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet, though barking or whining of animals may be escalated at certain times in certain areas of the building.
- High exposure to animals whose reactions to the shelter environment cannot be predicted.
- Temperatures in the shelter environment are varied, though usually moderate, and dependent on the season.
- Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to work around animals without severe allergic reactions.
- As work may need to be done outside of the shelter, the employee may encounter environmental issues outside of our control such as fallen tree limbs, rainstorms or snow/ice. When this occurs the employee must report the issues immediately to their direct supervisor who will work to resolution.
- Use of all extremities.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Good vision for detailed work.
- Good coordination.
