REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage

JOB SUMMARY: The Special Events Bartender will be responsible for preparing beverages according to the set standards; ensure guest satisfaction through professional and courteous service. Always keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean. Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.

 

This position will only be scheduled to work during Island Nights events and as needed for Park Buyouts, Events, etc.

 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dispense drinks including cocktails and mocktails in accordance with the standard recipe.
  • Ensures a high standard of sanitation and hygiene in the work area.
  • Always maintains a high standard of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Check and oversee the beverage storage, conditions, stock levels at the bar and beverage storeroom.
  • Ensures ingredients are stocked and stored in proper temperatures and correct manner.
  • Perform cashiering tasks according to the set standards.
  • Ensures security of beverage stocks in bars by observing control and inventory procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of various bar areas
  • Check and oversee accuracy of stocks acquired vs. requisitions.
  • Cleans the bar and prepares garnishes.
  • Constantly review standard recipes and operating procedures.
  • Constantly man their area and make conscious efforts to ensure that it is always ready to serve incoming guests and that no guests are left unattended.
  • In the absence of guests, maximize team members will work their shift by consciously finding activities that will help maintain the standards of the bar, ensure guest satisfaction and help upkeep the hygiene and general look of the restaurant/bar.
  • Greet guests, visitors, and team members in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and help provide guests with accurate park information. Answer guest questions concerning the park.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations, and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience: Bartending experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred.

Certification/Licensure: TIPS certification or Safe Responsible Alcohol Service Certification, required.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, holidays overnight events and weekends
  • Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including team members, community leaders and senior management.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Must have a proactive, goal-oriented, can-do attitude. Positive and effective customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to up-sell products and services.
  • Must have good teamwork orientation.
