Job Title: Sterile Supply Technician (Central Service Technician)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Night Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation required
Position Overview
We are seeking a Sterile Supply Technician to support sterile processing operations in a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment used across operating rooms and clinical departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, disinfection, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays
- Assemble both simple and complex surgical instrument sets
- Operate sterilization equipment including steam sterilizers, Steris, and Sterrad systems
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of sterilized equipment
- Monitor and document sterilization and decontamination processes
- Respond to urgent and emergent instrument and equipment requests from clinical staff
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of sterile processing equipment
Qualifications
- Certification as a Central Service Technician from a nationally accredited program OR
- Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile processing or related field
- Certification as a Central Service Technician (required)
- Completion of a nationally accredited central service technician exam (highly desired)
