Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical operations by ensuring all instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. This role is essential in maintaining infection control standards and promoting safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established protocols.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and defects; assemble and package instrument trays.
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ensuring all parameters are met.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators.
- Maintain accurate records for instrument tracking and sterilization logs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Prepare and distribute case carts to operating rooms and other departments in a timely manner.
- Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning instruments for repair or replacement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the sterile processing department.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare staff to meet procedural needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification preferred (or required based on facility guidelines).
- Minimum of 1 year of sterile processing or central service experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control standards, and surgical instrumentation.
- Experience working with autoclaves and sterilization equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
