Title: RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Rochester, New York
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse to work on a 14-bed overflow unit supporting admitted patients awaiting placement from the Emergency Department. This flexible care area may expand or contract based on patient volume and operational needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Start and maintain peripheral IV access
Perform phlebotomy as required
Manage peripheral lines and IV therapy
Monitor oxygen therapy and respiratory status
Utilize Rapid Response and Code Teams when appropriate
Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
Float to other qualified units based on facility needs
Required Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse License
BLS Certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
Competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion required
Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
EPIC EMR experience required
Strong assessment, communication, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Charge Nurse experience
Experience in acute care hospital settings
Additional Information:
First-time travelers accepted
Block scheduling may be considered but is not guaranteed
Minimal RTO preferred
