Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced ICU Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to a progressive step-down environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing high-acuity patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced clinical assessment, and rapid intervention when necessary.
This role requires expertise in caring for medically complex adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ICU Step Down patients requiring close monitoring
- Monitor and manage cardiac monitors, ventilators, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and catheters
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for clinical deterioration
- Respond appropriately to rapid response and code situations
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Assist with conscious sedation procedures and patient monitoring
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and patient care protocols
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- AHA ACLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or Medical/Surgical Step-Down nursing experience required
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations preferred
