Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule:
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 5 Days/Week
- 37.5–40 Hours/Week
Position Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care in wound, ostomy, and continence management, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments related to wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer and monitor treatments, therapies, and medications
- Evaluate and document patient progress and treatment effectiveness
- Provide care for complex wounds, fistulas, and ostomies
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention
- Support staff education, training, and onboarding initiatives
- Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
- Deliver culturally competent, patient-centered care
- Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and healthcare regulations
- Assist in the selection and management of wound care supplies and equipment
- Address clinical concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
- Support implementation of best practices in wound care
- Coordinate access to community and support resources
- Operate specialty equipment such as negative pressure wound therapy devices and specialty beds
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited program
- Active New York State RN License (in good standing)
- Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
- Hands-on experience in wound care and colostomy management

- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON)
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN)
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS)
- Wound Care Certified (WCC)
