Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU / PCU)
Location: Utica, NY
Shift: Night Shift – 12 Hours (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU). The ideal candidate will have strong step-down experience managing patients with complex cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in an intermediate/step-down care setting
- Monitor and assess patients with cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies
- Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring and support equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Document patient care using electronic medical records
- Float to other units as required
- Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Active New York RN License (must be in hand)
- Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU or step-down experience
- Travel experience required
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-acuity step-down or progressive care units
- Strong cardiac and neuro patient management skills
