Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down (Night Shift)
Location: Elmhurst, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Pay: $58 – $65/hour
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Step-Down ICU team. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients transitioning from critical care, requiring close monitoring and advanced clinical support. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a Step-Down ICU setting
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced medical equipment, including:
- Cardiac monitors
- Ventilators
- Tracheostomies
- Feeding tubes and catheters
- Perform frequent and thorough patient assessments
- Identify and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
- Respond effectively to rapid response and code situations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU or Step-Down (Progressive Care) nursing
- Strong experience with:
- IV insertion
- Phlebotomy
- Conscious sedation
- Proven ability to manage high-acuity patients
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Education & Licensure
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited program
- Active New York State RN License (in good standing)
- AHA Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
