Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry (MS/Tele)

Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week | Night Shift (3x12) | 03:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will monitor patients with cardiac and medical conditions, administer treatments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the EMR system
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and care teams
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge care
• Respond to emergencies and escalate care when necessary
• Float to other units as required based on facility needs

Qualifications

• Active New York RN License (required)
• Minimum 1–2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Chemo Certification (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system (required)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
