Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Care (IMCU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced step-down unit. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience managing high-acuity patients and be comfortable working with advanced monitoring and life-support equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in an intermediate care/step-down setting
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and neurological status
- Manage patients requiring respiratory support including BiPAP and chronic ventilators
- Assist with specialized equipment such as chest tubes, arterial lines, and temporary pacemakers
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications and IV therapies
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Float to other units as needed
Requirements:
- Active New York RN License required
- Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience required
- Travel experience required
- Certifications required:
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- NIHSS
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Strong clinical skills in high-acuity patient care
