Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Inpatient & Outpatient Rehabilitation for an exciting opportunity in Sitka, AK.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments based on PT-established care plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions and progress patients as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Monitor patient responses and document treatment outcomes accurately
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services across all age groups
- Communicate patient progress with PTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and mobility techniques
- Ensure patient safety during therapy activities and transfers
- Assist with adaptive equipment fitting including braces, orthotics, splints, and mobility aids
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and therapy records
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and departmental training
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy equipment and treatment areas
Requirements
- Associate Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required
- Current Alaska Physical Therapist Assistant license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum 1 year of PTA experience preferred in acute care or outpatient settings
- Strong understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and biomechanics
- Experience with adaptive equipment and mobility training
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in inpatient, outpatient, and community-based environments
- Strong problem-solving and patient safety awareness
