Job Title: Payroll Assistant
Location: New York, NY
Shift: Day Shift (Mon–Fri)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 5 Weeks (Temp, Temp-to-Hire / Extension Possible)
Pay Rate: $28 – $32 per hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Payroll Assistant for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Assist with wage garnishments and ensure accurate deductions
- Verify benefits deductions for accuracy
- Process payroll transfer reports
- Conduct payroll audits to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Support leadership with accounting and payroll-related projects
- Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies
- Ensure confidentiality of employee financial data
- Follow company payroll policies and procedures
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in payroll or related administrative/accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Basic knowledge of payroll processes and deductions
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience with Pay Choice or Payroll Associates systems
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Strong Excel skills (data entry, formulas, reporting)
Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
