Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician with experience in phlebotomy and EKG procedures for a 13-week assignment in an acute care setting. This role involves performing blood specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
- Accurately label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory
- Verify patient identity and ensure correct test orders
- Conduct non-invasive cardiac testing, including EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing
- Provide patient instructions for specimen collection procedures
- Complete documentation accurately within hospital systems
- Ensure proper completion of lab requisitions and billing information
- Collaborate with clinical staff regarding test orders and workflow updates
- Maintain compliance with PPE and infection control standards
- Support nursing units with specimen collection and diagnostic needs
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed
- Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and remove expired items
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
- Deliver excellent patient care and customer service
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT)
- EKG Certification
- BLS Certification
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency and attention to documentation accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of phlebotomy and EKG experience
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience with stress testing and Holter monitoring
