Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Pediatric Float Pool
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: Contract (20 Weeks)
Shift:
- Combination of 4-hour, 8-hour, and 12-hour shifts
- Total: 80 hours over two weeks
- Every other weekend required
- Some holiday coverage required
Short Description
Seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a Pediatric Float Pool role. The position requires experience in a Level 1 trauma setting and the ability to support pediatric patients across multiple units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding, toileting, and hygiene
- Obtain and record vital signs accurately
- Serve as a safety companion for patients requiring close monitoring
- Support pediatric patients by understanding growth and developmental needs
- Collaborate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Communicate patient information clearly and accurately
- Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to patient-centered care
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State CNA certification
- CPR (BLS) certification or ability to obtain/renew
- Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment health screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as a safety companion (monitoring patients at risk)
Experience Requirements (Converted from Table)
- Level 1 trauma hospital experience is required
- BLS certification is required
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing ADLs is required
- Experience working as a safety companion is highly desired
