Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Long-Term Care
Location: Seward, AK 99664
Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks (Traveler’s Choice)
Schedule: 3x12 Hours (36 Hours/Week) – Nights
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a long-term care (LTC) travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience and a strong background in LTC, providing compassionate patient care while adapting to a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a long-term care setting
- Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities
- Support nursing staff with clinical and non-clinical duties
- Float within CNA scope of practice as required
Shift Details:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Primary Need)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of recent LTC experience
- Previous travel CNA experience (Required)
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Active BLS Certification
- Must be willing to float within scope
Licensing Requirements:
- Alaska CNA license may be pending; however, candidates must have:
- Proof of application submission
- Proof of fee payment
- Fingerprints submitted
- Education verification submitted
- License verification submitted
- If license is pending, candidate must also provide:
- Active CNA license from another state
- Proof of CNA training completion (certificate or transcript)
Work Requirements:
- Non-local travelers only (must reside 50 miles from facility)
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling
Guaranteed Hours & Time-Off:
- 60 hours guaranteed every 2 weeks
- Facility may cancel up to one 12-hour shift per 2-week period
Additional Benefits:
Facility-Provided Vehicle:
- Available up to 72 hours before assignment start and 24 hours after contract end
- Driver must provide valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Personal insurance must cover rental vehicles
- Vehicle usage limited to:
- Local travel only (within 30 miles of facility)
- Must be returned clean with a full tank
