What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Schools Coordinator position at Navigator Schools?
The Community School Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the process for planning and then transforming Gilroy Prep, Hollister Prep, or Watsonville Prep Schools (one position per site) into a full service community school. The Community School Coordinator works in partnership with the school leadership and governance, and community partners, to assess the school community’s needs and assets, plan for an efficient coordination of student and family support services, and support the creation of a learning environment that focuses on student achievement and wellness. The ideal candidate will have the ability to connect and collaborate with families and leaders in communities of interest, will work collaboratively with Support Office and site staff, hold self to high expectations, and will uphold Navigator Schools culture at all times. Requirements:Experience in coordination and/or management/administration in an educational, non-profit and/or human services setting.Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with a diversely skilled workforce.A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families.Experience in collaboration, meeting facilitation, problem-solving and team building.Experience with school-based service delivery.Ability to multitask; skills to be a team player and self-starter.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Organizational skills; solid knowledge of Microsoft applications.Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends)
