The senior management team, made up of individuals in Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Operations and Finance, has excellent tenure. People enjoy working for this company. This is a hands-on in-office Senior Accountant role reporting to the Controller (who has a CPA, Master's in Accounting and 15 years' manufacturing accounting experience). In this role, the Senior Accountant will be in mainly an independent role, supporting the Controller, and being responsible for the monthly close for the company and 3 subsidiaries and and providing reports and analysis via Excel (using VLOOKUPS, pivot tables and macros). You would be a part of an accounting team which also includes the Payroll / HR Coordinator, AP Clerk and Invoicing Clerk. After a few months, with good performance, there is a possibility for some hybrid work from home. The full benefits package includes medical, dental and life insurance, 401(k) a 4% match, 2 weeks' accrued paid vacation, 9 paid holidays, and a discretionary bonus based on company performance. A drug test and criminal background check will be required of candidates receiving an offer. Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly financial statements and other busines reports for management
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly
- Preparing monthly work papers and journal entries (and journal entries for payroll and accrued payroll)
- Daily bank adjustments and cash posting entries
- Sales forecasting
- Job costing
- Intercompany accounting
- Backup for Invoicing, Accounts Payable and Sales Tax preparation
- Finance Team Lead and backup for Controller
Requirements
- BS in Accounting, Finance or Business is required
- CPA, CMA or advanced degree, such as an MBA or Master's in Accounting or Finance, is a plus but is not required
- 4 years of progressive experience in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement), including preparation and processing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, producing monthly supporting workpapers and reconciliation of accounts
- Financial Reporting experience
- Experience in Job Costing / Cost Accounting, Invoicing, Collections, and Accounts Payable
- Proficient in MS Excel, especially with VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables
- MS Excel experience with Macros is preferred
- Experience with a manufacturing business and an ERP system is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding and ability to apply accounting principles under GAAP
- Epicor software or Kinetic ERP for manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to effectively communicate relevant information across departments and externally to business partners
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ethical, detail-oriented, organized person with excellent time magement skills
