We are in search of a dynamic, detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with government standards and regulations, and handling other accounting duties. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a strategic mindset to analyze and improve our financial operations.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
- Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist the CFO with conducting audits.
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
- Adhere to the company's or organization's financial policies and procedures.
- Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives.
- Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of federal and state laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Government Accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks and FreshBooks.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
