Duties

You will have Knowledge, understanding, experience, and ability to assess and troubleshoot boiler systems that produce steam.You will independently start, operate, adjust, stop, maintain, and repair multiple-fuel (oil and natural gas) power boilers and associated auxiliary equipment.You will monitor, adjust, and control all phases of boiler plant operations.You will determine treatment and chemicals needed to control chemical concentrations and maintain stable water conditions in the boiler.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Knowledge, understanding, experience, and ability to assess and troubleshoot boiler systems that produce steam. 2) can independently start, operate, adjust, stop, maintain, and repair multiple-fuel (oil and natural gas) power boilers and associated auxiliary equipment. 3) monitors, adjusts, and controls all phases of boiler plant operations 4) Determines treatment and chemicals needed to control chemical concentrations and maintain stable water conditions in the boiler. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
