Summary

You will be directly responsible for executing in-house architectural design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards.You will analyze and design extensive architectural alterations and modifications to existing facilities to meet the ever-changing demands placed upon the shore establishments of the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.You will participate in on-site Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) and/or charrette to determine functional requirements and develop concept design for large, complex projects.You will investigate or evaluates architectural issues and concerns in existing facilities, and develop reports that include recommendations and options for remediation or corrective measures, as applicable.You will plan and lead project design conferences/work sessions and on-site Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) and/or charrettes with stakeholders to determine project requirements and to develop concept designs.You will identify areas of risk associated with advanced planning, design and construction and develop mitigation strategies or alternatives.You will prepare correspondence, reports, and economic analyses. Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Must be able to conceptualize complex Architecture and Engineering designs for the project and coordinate creative solutions; 4) Resolving architectural construction and design issues encountered during the performance of construction; 5) Acting as discipline specific (architectural) mentor to junior architectural engineering staff. I have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. My curriculum for a degree in either architecture or architectural engineering covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities OR I lack a degree in architecture, but I have 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture that demonstrates that I have acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
