You will serve as a Painter Inspector in the Production Lines Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will perform visual and dimensional inspections at designated stages during metal processing done by others, such as Cleaning, Sandblasting, Shot peening, Electroplating, Metal Spray, and Painting.
- You will inspect and examine parts and assemblies to determine type of metal prior to applying appropriate protective finishes and colors in accordance with technical directives.
- You will inspect in-process and on completion of the cleaning and preparing of aircraft, engine, and miscellaneous components and parts by chemical, mechanical, and sonic methods using various chemical solutions.
- You will operate various types of metal spraying equipment including plasma, thermo, and wire spray.
- You will apply coatings such as refractory ceramic coatings, (nylon, alumina and zirconia), exothermic materials, tungsten, carbide, nickel aluminide, nickel chrome alloys, spray silver, spray bronze, spray steel, spray aluminum and molybdenum.
- You will be using a variety of electrolytic and chemical processes to accomplish precision, protective, and decorative metallic or nonmetallic finishes on a wide array of metal and metal alloy objects.
