Are you a detail-oriented and driven Operations professional with a strong background in settlements, looking to make a significant impact within a global financial institution? Our Macro Operations team is seeking a talented Operations Associate to provide crucial "follow-the-sun" operational support to our Paris counterparties, specializing in Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD) and Foreign Exchange (FX).
In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of trade lifecycle management, responsible for the meticulous validation, confirmation, and in-depth settlement of trades. Your essential settlement experience will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and robust risk control that are vital to our operations. You'll act as a key control point, expertly bridging the gap between Front Office, Middle Office, counterparties, and payment networks, ensuring seamless execution and mitigating risk.
What You'll Do:
- Provide Essential Follow-the-Sun Support: Deliver critical operational coverage for Paris Operations, ensuring continuity and excellence across time zones.
- Trade Validation & Accuracy: Perform daily trade validation for IRD and FX products, meticulously ensuring that trade economics are accurately captured and align perfectly with front office bookings.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively investigate and efficiently resolve trade discrepancies, maintaining the integrity of our trade data.
- Confirmation Management: Manage and monitor both electronic and manual trade confirmations, ensuring timely matching and affirmation of trades through industry-leading platforms.
- Counterparty & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact, liaising effectively with counterparties and internal stakeholders to promptly resolve unmatched or disputed trades.
- Settlement & Payment Processing: Crucially, you will process and control cash settlements and lifecycle payments associated with macro products, adhering to strict internal controls.
- SWIFT Payment Expertise: Prepare, validate, and release SWIFT payment instructions, ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Settlement Monitoring & Escalation: Diligently monitor settlement timelines, proactively identifying and escalating any funding or payment issues. Your settlement expertise will be key in ensuring timely and accurate cash movements.
- FX Matching Oversight: Perform daily monitoring and exception management across FX matching platforms, ensuring trades are matched and affirmed within market timelines.
- Break Investigation: Support the investigation and resolution of breaks with counterparties and internal teams, contributing to a streamlined operational flow.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, escalate, and meticulously track operational risks and settlement issues, upholding our commitment to strong risk management.
- Adherence to Standards: Maintain strict adherence to internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Process Improvement: Actively contribute to identifying and implementing process improvements and control enhancements, driving efficiency and innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Front Office, Trade Support, Middle Office, IT, and other support functions to achieve shared goals.
- Professional Communication: Maintain professional, clear, and concise communication with external counterparties and custodians.
What You Bring:
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in a Back Office role specifically supporting Macro products.
- Mandatory Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of Interest Rate, FX, and Derivatives.
- Platform Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with key FX Back Office platforms such as FXAll, CLS, and MarkitWire.
- Confirmation Systems: Knowledge of electronic confirmation platforms.
- SWIFT Expertise: Practical experience with SWIFT payment processing, including MT and MX messaging.
- Trade Lifecycle Systems: Familiarity with trade lifecycle systems and settlement workflows.
- Global Markets Operations: Experience in a back office or operations environment supporting global markets.
- Comprehensive Trade Lifecycle Understanding: A strong grasp of the entire trade lifecycle, from booking through confirmation, and crucially, settlement, including understanding the intricacies of cash movements and settlement finality.
- Performance Under Pressure: Proven ability to manage high volumes of work with exceptional accuracy, even under significant time pressure.
- Language Skills (Beneficial): Bilingual proficiency in French is a strong asset, though not a mandatory requirement.
- Exceptional Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a robust control-oriented mindset.
- Prioritization Skills: Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive, market-driven environment.
- Problem-Solving Acumen: Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills to tackle complex operational challenges.

The salary range for this Associate position will be between $105,000 - $125,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance
