What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Nationwide Transport Services?
Growing National Transportation and Logistics Company requires an accountant to assist in various accounting functions to control transportation operations and functions which include:
1. Payables - Experience in managing paperwork related to transportation orders, matching vendor invoices and delivery documentation and preparing payment documentation.
2. Payroll and Commissions - Experience with ADP or other similar software. Will also manage taxes related to state, county and city taxes as well as international contractor tax reports and reconciliations.
3. Credit card (CC) processing and fraud detection and investigation. Ensure that customers paying with credit cards are adequately vetted and CCs processed according to Company procedures.
4. Accounting Activities - recording accounting activities for payables, including checks, ACH's and Wire Transfers. Handle banking fraud protection systems for issued checks.
5. Experience with QuickBooks is a requirement as is accuracy and efficiency.
6. Preference given to candidates with Transportation Accounting Experience and at least 2 years of accounting experience.
7. Verbal and written communication skills are important as carriers and customers are our partners and we must focus on these valuable assets.
Work is in office.
