Overview
An established and growing privately held company in the wholesale distribution and Ecom sales is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on , strategic leader who can ensure accurate financial reporting, enhanced controls, and helps drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Manage cash flow and cash management activities to optimize liquidity and financial stability as well as reviewing bank statements every month
- Prepare and review accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies.
- Know how to use QuickBooks
- Support budgeting processes and provide forecasting insights to guide strategic planning.
- Manage the inventory monthly
- Signing checks daily and reviewing all charges daily that are being paid out
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Strong knowledge of public accounting practices along with non-profit accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial analysis tools is a plus.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing, account reconciliation, budget management, and forecasting.
- Deep understanding of cash management strategies and internal controls for safeguarding assets.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and maintain accurate general ledger reconciliation.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
