L3 Field Technician

Job Description – L3 Field Technician

Multiple locations - 100% Travel

Important: This is a Level 3 position. We are looking for experienced telecom field technicians who can independently execute field deployments, troubleshoot technical issues, and lead L1/L2 technicians when required.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced fiber installation, routing, patching, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Install, configure, rack, and stack telecom and data center equipment.
• Handle equipment decommissioning and structured cabling activities.
• Perform optical testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meters (OPM), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and other relevant tools.
• Perform AC/DC power termination, grounding, and related field activities.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and site layouts.
• Troubleshoot fiber, network, optical, and equipment installation issues.
• Lead and guide L1/L2 technicians during field deployments.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Work independently at customer sites and travel as required across the United States.

3. Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant telecom, data center, or field installation experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in fiber installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with OTDR and optical testing equipment.
• Hands-on experience with rack-and-stack, telecom equipment installation, and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of DC power termination and grounding.
• Ability to independently handle field deployment activities and lead junior technicians.
• Valid driver's license.
