Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced residential home inspector to join our team. This is a
W-2 employee position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of residential construction and building codes, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the quality and safety of homes. As a Residential Home Inspector, you will play a crucial role in helping clients make informed decisions about their homes.
Qualifications:
- Must have an active Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) Professional Inspector or Real Estate Inspector License.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices, building codes, and safety standards.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be detail oriented and have professional report writing skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items (minimum 50 lbs.) and ability to access awkward locations (such as but not limited to: lifting ladder, entering attic spaces, entering crawlspaces, removing equipment covers).
- Must be able to ascend and descend a ladder with a maximum load of 275 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license (required).
- Thermal imaging/sewer camera experience and drone certification a plus.
- Must live in service area as your primary areas of inspection would be in Denton and Collin counties.
- Must pass ongoing drug tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform residential inspections following and in accordance with the Texas Real Estate Commission’s standards of practice.
- Document findings accurately and prepare detailed inspection reports for clients.
- Convey inspection findings to clients in a clear/concise and non-threatening manner.
- Daily completion of assignments including inspection, inspection report, uploading information, etc.
- Demonstrate competency in the use of a keyboard (the ability to type).
- Be responsible for a vehicle and tools to aid in performing inspections.
- Be available for inspections regularly Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday (possibly one per month).
Benefits:
- Wages: $45,000-$65,000 per year.
- Compensation would include a commission for inspections performed that is a percentage of the inspection fee (with a minimum weekly guarantee against commission).
