What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Inspector position at Cornerstone Property Inspection?
We are looking for a part time inspector to join us in serving our clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. This is a CONTRACT position.
Previous experience in home building, inspecting or knowledge of home structures is required. Our ideal candidate will have at least ONE of the following :
- valid TREC inspector license
AND/OR
- ICC Certification
AND/OR
- Resnet-Rater or Field Inspector experience
You will receive training on how to conduct an inspection, what to look for, and how to read building plans.
Compensation to be paid on a per inspection basis. Ideal candidates will need to have a flexible working schedule and be willing to work some Saturdays.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Perform on-site property inspections of new construction and existing homes in Dallas/Fort Worth market.
- Evaluate existing building conditions and provide reports to homebuyers, agents, and/or builders.
- Report to be completed on tablet/laptop device using specified software in a timely manner.
- This will often require communication with homebuyers and sellers, real estate agents, builder’s construction project managers or contractors. Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with various members of each of these teams.
- Utilize personal vehicle to travel to inspections in various neighborhoods across the metroplex.
Minimum Qualifications
- Flexible working schedule, ability to get to inspections with 24 hour notice given
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
- Must be detail-oriented
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Physical demands for this position frequently include: the ability to maintain balance and move around in construction zone environment
- Access to reliable transportation and tablet for completing reports
- Previous inspection or building experience OR TREC/IRC/HERS Licensing
Preferred Qualifications
- TREC certification OR ICC certification (RFI, C5, C8)
- Resnet Field Inspection experience (RFI) or IECC code experience is a plus.
