SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
National Park College is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant. The Maintenance Assistant will provide general maintenance to classrooms, offices, restrooms, buildings and other areas on campus. The duties and responsibilities are listed below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- All aspects of minor building maintenance and repair.
- Specific daily, weekly, monthly and annual building checks for building code and maintenance issues.
- Maintain records for emergency lights and exit lights and performs repairs as needed to fixtures.
- Monitor buildings and grounds for public safety and security.
- Assist and or supervise contracted workers in completion of required work.
- Assist in tending to grounds, custodial, and car pool equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Exemplify professionalism at all time. Professionalism includes appearance, actions, and speech.
- Support the decisions of NPC leadership.
- Ability to work from ladders, man lift, or other high work surfaces.
- Ability to preform minor electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs.
- Ability to paint.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills/abilities:
- Minor HVAC experience.
- Minor mechanical experience.
- Ability to assess issues and problem solve.
- Computer skills including the ability to navigate Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- The ability to log worked hours on an electronic timesheet.
- Good communication skills.
- Customer and Personal Service.
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Team Player.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Two years of building maintenance experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and Walking – more than 90%.
- Hand and Finger Dexterity – more than 90%.
- Lifting – 50 pounds.
- Operating, lifting and carrying a variety of equipment.
