We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Defense Litigation Paralegal with 5 years of experience in medical malpractice and defense litigation. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process by managing case files, conducting research, and coordinating legal tasks.

- Case Management: Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up to date, filed appropriately, and accessible for attorneys. Maintain a detailed calendar of case deadlines, court dates, and important milestones.
- Legal Research & Document Drafting: Conduct in-depth legal research on medical malpractice laws, case precedents, and relevant statutes. Draft and prepare legal documents, including discovery requests, subpoenas, pleadings, and motions.
- Discovery Support: Oversee discovery processes, including reviewing and organizing medical records, depositions, and expert reports. Assist in preparing responses to interrogatories, requests for admissions, and document production.
- Client & Witness Communication: Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and medical professionals to obtain essential information and documentation. Prepare and manage witness lists and exhibit preparation for trials.
- Trial Preparation: Assist in trial preparation, including organizing evidence, creating trial binders, and helping attorneys prepare exhibits for court. Attend depositions and trial hearings as necessary.
- Medical Record Review: Review and summarize complex medical records, identifying key issues and discrepancies relevant to the defense creating medical chronologies
- MUST have 5 years of experience in defense litigation, specifically in medical malpractice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and legal procedures.
- Experience with Transcription/dictation a must
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
