Business Development Manager
Overview: National Carpet Mill Outlet dba National Design Mart’s Business Development Manager is responsible for fostering current business relationships, networking, and building new business relationships. This position will generate new business strategies to stay competitive. Proper knowledge and communication of our products and services are essential components to the success of the Business Development Manager. A strong belief in the company’s vision and the ability to execute its core values are expected.
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales or marketing preferred.
· Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of individuals including business owners and senior executives.
· Outstanding communication and presentation skills; ability to listen and communicate effectively to the needs of the client.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule to attend meetings and functions outside of normal work hours including weekends.
· Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently as required of the position (may include occasional overnight travel).
· Friendly, outgoing personality.
· Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities
· Business Development (80%)
· Grow business through the identification and development of prospects by scheduling in person meetings, attending networking events, providing promotional literature, etc.
· Foster current and new relationships to improve the customer experience in order to build and maintain brand loyalty; interpret and translate customer needs.
· Stay abreast of market and industry trends; identify opportunities and implement strategies to procure new business.
· Work closely with the Sales department to provide consistent and excellent customer service.
· Knowledge & Training (20%)
· Identify personal growth needs and improvement opportunities.
· Seek to obtain product information; maintain proficiency of National Design Mart products.
· Learn and become proficient in companywide flooring software (RFMS).
· Suggest processes to improve operational efficiencies.
· Communicate effectively with others.
Physical Aspects
· Standing and/or walking for up to 4 hours consistently when necessary.
· Lifting up to 25 lbs. regularly and without assistance.
· Working in a retail store environment.
