**2nd shift position**
Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Truck Switcher is to operate a Hilo/forklift in order to properly load completed orders onto the trucks or within the warehouse. This position is also responsible for switching trailers and transporting product to remote warehouses. This position is physically demanding and requires work in both extreme hot and cold environments.
- Move Trailers to and from a remote warehouse.
- Ensure trailer and container tag seals and intact.
- Inspect loads for cleanliness and quality.
- Accurately record receipts and shipments on documents and in computer system.
- Load and unload trucks (raw materials, finished products, equipment, etc.) when not driving.
- Consolidate product and raw materials.
- Responsible for conducting a safety inspection of the forklifts and switcher trucks.
- Maintain a sanitary, clean, and safe working environment.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
High School or GED required
Valid CDL Class A Driver's license with less than 5 points REQUIRED
Previous experience operating a forklift, certification preferred
Previous experience in an industrial setting preferred
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds repetitively, 2000 cases per day
Basic reading comprehension and mathematical skills
Must be dependable, punctual, and be able to demonstrate good work habits
Mental and physical ability to handle large quantities of product
Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary
Must be able to work in a hot and humid work environment
Must be able to effectively communicate in English
