Desktop Support Technician
Position Overview
The Desktop Support Technician will provide exceptional technical support to both on-site and remote employees and contractors. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise and customer service skills, with a passion for technology and helping people. The ideal candidate communicates technical information clearly to users of varying technical skill levels and works collaboratively across teams and locations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support via ticketing system, email, instant message, and phone
Install, configure, support, and upgrade desktop systems, software, peripherals, and related equipment
Follow up on open issues to ensure timely resolution and high user satisfaction
Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and automate IT support processes
Manage and monitor internal IT assets to maintain accurate inventory records
Set up and manage user access, hardware, and systems as part of employee onboarding and offboarding
Provide facilities-related IT support, including telecom and internet service providers
Support conference room audio/visual equipment as needed
Travel to company locations and provide after-hours support when required
Perform additional duties as assigned
Preferred Experience & Skills
Basic understanding of corporate IT systems, infrastructure, and technology solutions
Strong ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical users
Experience supporting multiple operating systems:
Windows
Mac OSX
Linux distributions (Debian/Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS, etc.)
Hands-on experience with computer hardware, mobile devices (iOS & Android), and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and multi-function devices
Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
Resourceful, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a team-oriented environment
