    POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director of Human Resources � Civil Rights/Title IX
    REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
    COORDINATES WITH: Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, Building Principals, Assistant Principals, Department Heads, and Office Managers
    WORK YEAR: Full Year, Full-Time (260 Days)

    OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Assistant Director of Human Resources supports the Director of Human Resources in the administration and implementation of comprehensive human resources programs and services for the district. The position serves as a key resource to administrators, supervisors, and employees regarding employee relations, workplace concerns, performance management, employment practices, and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

    The Assistant Director will serve as the districts Title IX Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing Title IX compliance, investigations, training, and related reporting requirements. The position will also provide the leadership and coordinator for the district's employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a consistent, efficient, and positive experience for employees throughout the employment lifecycle.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
    • Minimum of five years' experience in human resources, employee relations, labor relations, or a related field.
    • Minimum of five years' experience with Title IX and/or Civil Rights.
    • Demonstrated experience conducting or coordinating employee investigations and resolving employee relations matters.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Experience working in a public-sector or school district environment preferred.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
    • Experience with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations preferred.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as a primary HR resource for employee relations, including workplace concerns, conflict resolution, performance issues, investigations, and disciplinary matters.
    • Partner with administrators and supervisors to address employee performance, conduct, attendance, and other employment-related concerns.
    • Serve as the District's Title IX Coordinator, overseeing compliance, investigations, documentation, training, and required reporting.
    • Coordinate and monitor the district's employee onboarding process, ensuring new employees receive required information, documentation, training, and support.
    • Coordinate and monitor employee offboarding, including resignations, retirements, terminations, exit processes, and coordination with payroll, benefits, technology, and other departments.
    • Assist with the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, District policies, and employment laws and regulations.
    • Conduct and/or assist with workplace investigations and prepare appropriate documentation and recommendations.
    • Support administrators with progressive discipline and other employee performance-management matters.
    • Assist with labor relations, including preparation for negotiations, grievance responses, and contract administration.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
    • Develop and deliver HR-related training for administrators, supervisors, and employees.
    • Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, forms, and processes.
    • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and ensure accurate and secure employee records.
    • Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Legal Counsel, and other departments on employee-related matters.
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee services, and the overall employee experience.
    • Assist the Director of Human Resources with special projects and other strategic HR initiatives.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
