Primary Janitor

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Primary Janitor to provide janitorial services at a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) federal office facility in Springfield, Colorado. This role is contingent upon contract award and requires strict adherence to federal cleaning standards, security procedures, and quality expectations.

The Primary Janitor will be responsible for routine weekly cleaning, as well as periodic monthly, semi-annual, and annual services, ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and professional at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform weekly janitorial services for offices, lobby, restrooms, kitchen, and common areas
• Vacuum carpeted floors and sweep/mop non-carpeted surfaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, and partitions
• Clean kitchen sink, countertops, cabinets, and appliances
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of trash in designated dumpster areas
• Clean interior glass, entrance doors, and windows as required
• Perform monthly, semi-annual, and annual cleaning tasks such as:
• Dusting walls and vertical surfaces
• Cleaning interior and exterior windows
• Stripping and refinishing tile floors
• Carpet shampooing (as scheduled)
• Follow all safety, security, and facility access requirements
• Use approved cleaning products and equipment, including environmentally preferred products when required
• Immediately report maintenance issues, damages, or security concerns to supervision

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of janitorial or custodial experience (commercial, office, or institutional preferred)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and schedules
• Reliable transportation to the worksite
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation (HSPD-12 / PIV)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Physically able to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience cleaning government or office facilities
• Familiarity with commercial janitorial equipment and supplies
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic
