Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and licensed Herbicide Applicator to support herbicide application services at Copan and Hulah Lakes, under a federal contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This role is critical to ensuring safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible vegetation control across public use areas, dam embankments, levees, and other designated project lands.
The selected individual will perform herbicide application services in strict accordance with the project's Performance Work Statement (PWS), federal safety standards, and all applicable state and federal pesticide regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform herbicide and pesticide applications in designated areas including levees, dam embankments, rights-of-way, riprap areas, and other project-specified locations
- Apply herbicides in compliance with all label directions, EPA regulations, Oklahoma state requirements, and USACE environmental standards
- Maintain accurate application records, including products used, quantities, locations, weather conditions, and application dates
- Implement required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Prevent environmental contamination, off-target damage, and exposure to the public
- Coordinate with site supervisors and Government representatives as required
- Immediately report spills, incidents, or unsafe conditions in accordance with project safety plans
- Support inspections, audits, and documentation requests related to herbicide activities
Required Qualifications:
- Current, valid Commercial Herbicide Applicator License issued by the State of Oklahoma
- A copy of the license is required (license number alone is not acceptable)
- Demonstrated experience applying herbicides in outdoor, natural, or public land environments
- Working knowledge of herbicide safety, mixing, handling, and application techniques
- Ability to comply with EM safety requirements and federal worksite protocols
- Reliable transportation to multiple work sites within the Copan and Hulah Lake project areas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience performing herbicide application services on federal, state, or municipal projects
- Familiarity with USACE, USDA, or other federal land management standards
- Experience working in environmentally sensitive or public recreation areas
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk uneven terrain, slopes, and embankments
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, materials, and chemical containers as required
