We are seeking motivated, experienced, and personable Associates to take on the role of Barista at our Common Ground Cafe/Market. Our Barista positions are a critical role in our overall guest product and vision. As a primary point of contact with our guests and our local patrons, we need personable and affable Associates that will not only provide great service but do so in a happy, professional, and caring manner. Further, the café workplace is a dynamic environment with constantly changing needs and tasks. The ability to multitask, change activities on the fly and work under varying levels of Guest/Patron demands are essential skills for this position.
Specific Job Responsibilities – As a Barista at our Common Grounds Café/Market your responsibilities will include the following. All training will be provided to fulfill the following list of responsibilities:
- Prepare Starbucks coffee, tea, juices and other crafted beverages for guests and patrons.
- Discuss and recommend various beverage options with guests/patrons.
- Discuss and recommend various food paring options with guests/patrons.
- Have a complete working knowledge of all café/market food and beverage offerings, pricing, options etc.
- Carry out all cash and credit transactions related to Guest/Patron purchases.
- Accurate recording of Guest/Patron orders.
- Have a complete working knowledge of the hotel amenities and guest services.
- Have a complete working knowledge of the café/market Point of Sale system.
- Clean/re-stock and maintain the café/market during downtime or as needed.
- Ensure that you are always adhering to food safety procedures.
- Assist in training new baristas as needed
Working Hours - The working hours at the Café will be a mixture of full time 8-hour shifts and part time 4-hour shifts. There will also be the opportunity for Associates to work at more than one Food and Beverage venue at the property. In this instance the Associate may work a part time shift at the café and then follow or precede that shift with another part time shift at one of the other resort venues.
Working Environment – As a café Associate standing and walking for extended periods of time will be required. You will also have to be comfortable working in a confined work area with more than one or two other Associates. You will also be exposed to hot and cold temperatures while operating various beverage and food equipment. The cleaning, maintain and stocking of the café/market will also require crouching, reaching and light lifting throughout the shift.

Candidate Requirements: A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a craft coffee beverage venue. Friday-Sunday open availability is a must. Must be available weekends.
