Job Summary
Job Summary
The Program Manager for Literacy resides in the Continuous Improvement and Academic Support (CIAS) department at Napa County Office of Education (NCOE). CIAS is co-lead with Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) for California’s Literacy Coach and Reading Specialist Educator Training (LCRSET) Grant. The intent of the LCRSET grant is to build capacity of literacy/reading specialists across the Literacy Coach/Reading Specialist (LCRS) school sites through June 2029 to improve literacy outcomes for students. NCOE’s CIAS department is one of twelve regional hubs responsible for supporting LEAs and sites that received the LCRS funds. The Program Manager will support the LCRS school districts and sites across NCOE’s hub region in the development and sustainability of their literacy teams, literacy plans, literacy programs, and family/community engagement teams. The ideal candidate will work with LCRS districts and sites in systems improvement to ensure long-term project sustainability. The Program Manager will help co-design and implement plans to meet the objectives of the LCRSET Hub roles including program management, strategic planning and goal setting, data collection and analysis, and providing appropriate professional development opportunities to educational leaders, literacy/reading coaches, and family engagement teams. The preferred candidate will have strong oral/written communication and collaboration skills to facilitate communities of practice, workshops, and customized services to districts and schools.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A valid California Administrative Credential; a master’s degree in education or related field preferred
• A valid California Teaching Credential
• Extensive knowledge, work experience, and demonstrated leadership in the field of literacy
• A minimum of five years of instructional leadership, curriculum and instruction, professional development and/or instructional coaching
• Experience with coaching educational leaders and educators in developing models and practices that support effective teaching and learning
