What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at Nan Ya Plastics Corporation USA (Wharton)?
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Supervision of Marketing activities, liaison between the Wharton and BT Facility
III. QUALIFICATIONS: College degree and five years marketing experience of plastics raw material. Chinese speaking is required in order to communicate with customers.
Must be able to travel
IV. TRAINING: Three months on the job training.
V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. TASKS AND DUTIES
1. Marketing
a. Marketing information will be surveyed, updated and analyzed by daily conversation with customers.
b. Provide orders status per customer’s inquiry if available and help to meet customer’s requirements if reasonable.
c. Study the feasibility of special price per customer’s and propose for approval.
d. Make a proposal of sales plan to get the target.
e. Compromise with the customer’s conflict and propose a course of action to prevent any similar occurrence.
2. New Product Developing
a. Assist in researching new products by supplying Technical Dept. with customer’s requirements. Submit a developed sample to customer for test run and help to answer any technical questions.
b. Propose new application on existing products or on new products.
3. Sales Target Management
a. Print out "Monthly Sales Target Review Report" & "Sales Monthly Report" monthly. Review and work with customers to set up next month sales target. Review the numbers and key into the system.
b. Review "Sales Activity Report." Work with customers to determine the problems for the differences between target and actual sales and propose any action to make an improvement.
4. Management Analysis
a. Print out "Sales Summary Report" daily and review. If any abnormal, analyze and propose action to be taken out.
b. Print out "Shipment Delayed Report" weekly and review it. If any abnormal, communicate with the Production, Scheduling and Shipping departments and the customers. Take any action to complete the order. Key in the status of the orders into the system.
c. Print out "Shipment Moving Report" and review. Analyze and propose an analysis report.
d. Print out "Weekly A/R Overdue 30 Days Report" and "A/R Aging Report" weekly and review it. Follow up overdue payments.
5. Customer Service
a. Contact customers by telephone or in person to update customer’s information and to help to improve sales.
b. Report problems or anything abnormal.
6. Pricing
a. When cost changes, review and set price guidelines according to profit and market situation.
b. Set price quotation and submit it for approval. After price guideline approved, keep records of price and quotations.
c. Notify customers regarding pricing changes.
7. Correspondence: Reply in writing any written correspondence received customer’s faxes and telephone requests.
8. Supervise Order Processing and Shipping Control.
9. Supervise Customer’s Complaint Processing and Follow Up.
10. Supervise Filing Orders and Related Documents such as Invoice, S/C ,etc.
11. Other related business for marketing that is not illustrated above.

5. Answer the faxes from marketing and customers.

VI. AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING: Supervised by vice president and is controlled by company policy and procedure. Position is authorized to direct marketing activities.
