Duties
- Process and verify a high volume of vendor invoices using financial software such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle, ensuring adherence to company policies and GAAP standards.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills, including formulas like VLOOKUP, to review invoice data, identify discrepancies, and facilitate efficient accounts payable automation.
- Manage accounts payable workflows by coordinating with vendors, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring timely payments through systems like Paychex, ADP, or Ceridian.
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations and audit procedures in compliance with SOX controls and internal policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry tasks with precision across various accounting systems such as PeopleSoft or Sage.
- Support accounts receivable management and payroll processing activities as needed within the HRIS platforms like UltiPro or Kronos.
Experience
- Proven accounting and finance experience with a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Hands-on experience with financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with accounts payable automation tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance standards, and public accounting practices.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data using Excel formulas (including VLOOKUP) and perform Excel data analysis for reporting purposes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry skills (including 10 key typing) and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos; experience in governmental or non-profit accounting is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and bookkeeping efficiently within multiple accounting systems.
