Role Description
The Advertising and Business Development Coordinator is responsible for generating revenue through advertising sales, exhibit space sales, conference partnership opportunities, and strategic external relationships. This role manages digital and print advertising opportunities, conference exhibit and sponsorship sales, and cultivates partnerships that support the association’s mission and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Advertising & Exhibit Sales (Digital, Print, and Conference)
- Represent the association in soliciting and securing digital and print advertising, as well as conference exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities.
- Identify and maintain an updated list of prospective advertisers, exhibitors, sponsors, and key contacts.
- Solicit prospects, advertisers, and advertising agencies for the purchase of digital and print display advertising across all association publications and platforms.
- Solicit prospects and exhibitors for the purchase of booth space and promotional placements at the annual conference and other events.
- Recommend marketing strategies, sales campaigns, promotional ideas, and special advertising supplements related to publications, digital channels, and conferences.
- Ensure timely and successful completion of all sales activities according to schedules and production timelines.
- Maintain accurate records supporting and verifying all advertising, sponsorship, and exhibit sales.
Partnership Development
- Collaborate with the Communications Division, Partnerships Coordinator, Director of Projects & Executive Support, and CEO to identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with potential affiliates, sponsors, vendors, schools, law firms, and other relevant organizations.
- Develop and implement strategies for partnership growth, including sponsorship packages, collaborative initiatives, and long-term alliances.
- Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand standards.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for advertisers, sponsors, exhibitors, and strategic partners.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership on advertising, exhibit sales, sponsorships, and partnership activities.
- Track and evaluate performance metrics, including engagement, revenue generation, fulfillment status, and partnership impact.
- Support the Communications Team by developing analytical reports that demonstrate return on investment (ROI) for advertisers, sponsors, and exhibitors.
- Conduct competitive analysis and monitor industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in advertising sales (digital and print), event sponsorship sales, or partnership/business development.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, and partner engagement.
- Some evening or weekend work may be needed during peak event periods.
