The N-able team is looking someone to lead the threat research program supporting our cybersecurity transformation. This role reports directly to our CSO and is focused on overseeing our threat research programs including data collection and analysis, customer advisories, reverse engineering, threat detection, and adversary emulation.
This position will foster relationships with leaders across the business and divisions while collaborating with partners in security, legal, risk, compliance, and technology groups. He/she will also oversee a variety of cybersecurity activities including the monitoring of the N-able corporate and product environments, incident response preparedness, cyber threat hunting and cyber operations.

What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a global team of high performing threat researchers, engineers and data scientists, supporting both products as well as internal N-able security
- Responsible for driving operations around threat data collection, analysis and dissemination to our products, customers and internal teams
- Maintain expert knowledge of APT, ransomware and major cybercrime TTPs
- Track active campaigns from major threat actors against public, private and government entities
- Oversee the creation and publication of intelligence reports and share with the security research community through Adlumin partnerships
- Leverage both internal and external data sources to extract strategic, operational and tactical intelligence
- Owns and drives development of new threat detection capabilities for evolving actor TTP’s
- Delivers customer briefings on the ever-changing threat landscape
- Expert translating highly technical topics into more easily consumable and understandable customer deliverables
- Oversees threat hunting activities
- Make recommendations on tools, technologies, and personnel needs to support the growing demands of the Adlumin services.
- Performs all aspects of employee development, working to ensure employee growth and retention.
- Develops and maintains employee development plans
- Responsible for ensuring spending is within budget allocation
- 7-10 years of technical cybersecurity experience in Threat Analysis, Incident Response, Security Operations, Data Collection, Threat Hunting, etc.
- Extensive experience analyzing actor tradecraft and TTPS
- Expert understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and DeTT&CT frameworks
- Experience analyzing malware, identifying Indicators of Compromise (IOC) and TTPs of various threat actors through the analysis of email, malware, end-point, network, etc.
- Convey complicated technical analysis to internal and external stakeholders via reports, investigation synopses, graphical depictions of attacks, and comprehensive presentations
