A Day in the Life:
- Supervise financial reporting activities, including preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Research and analyze complex GAAP and statutory accounting issues and provide recommendations to leadership
- Oversee reporting packages and consolidated financial reporting support
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities and assist with regulatory inquiries
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while supporting hiring, performance management, and career development
- Review quarterly tax provisions, deferred tax balances, and related workpapers
- Oversee expense allocations, intercompany activity, cash settlements, and operational accounting processes
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and implement procedures to improve accuracy and controls
- Review and interpret reinsurance agreements and related accounting treatment
- Partner with Finance leadership to improve departmental efficiency and reporting processes
Who Excels in this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting, financial reporting, or FP&A experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- CPA preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience is highly valued
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
