General Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the overall Safety and Security of Muskingum Valley Health Centers (MVHC). This position will be responsible to patrol and protect assigned property, promote and enforce safety and security, and act as a visible deterrent against irregular activity.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in Safety or Security.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and solve problems as they arise.
• Ability to prioritize safety and security.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
Working Conditions:
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. consistently dependent upon task
• Carry up to 20 lbs. consistently dependent upon task
• Standing 1-2 hours at a time with the potential to bend, stop, stretch dependent upon task.
• Walking a minimum of 30 minutes per hour throughout the day.
• Withstanding pressure and dealing with emergency situations as needed.
• Average working hours with possible non-traditional hours.
• Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
• Ability to deal with upset or disgruntle patients in order to deescalate the situation.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Patrols building and parking areas to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Monitors cameras to watch for disruptions if applicable.
• Monitors exits and entrances.
• Monitors fire/safety violations.
• Uses vocera communication device in a clear and concise manner .
• Must be or have the ability to complete CPR and perform CPR and first aid when needed.
• Must be or have to ability to complete Stop the Bleed training.
• Must be or have the ability to complete De-escalation training.
• Participate and assist with fire drills with MVHC.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Works with the security team to assist with disturbances at any MVHC facility.
• Required to drive to multiple locations to complete job duties.
• Other job duties as assigned by the manager.
