Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Charlotte, NC office. The Project Manager will support and deliver information technology initiatives that enable our attorneys and professional staff to do their best work. This role partners closely with the Business Process Improvement Manager, IT leadership, practice groups, administrative departments, and external vendors to ensure technology projects are executed effectively and aligned with firm priorities.
The Project Manager applies structured project management practices to software implementations, system enhancements, and process‑driven initiatives across the firm.
What You’ll Do:
Project Planning & Delivery
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing IT projects from initiation through completion
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, task lists, risk logs, and status reports
- Monitor progress to ensure delivery meets scope, objectives, and success criteria
- Identify, track, and help resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies
Business & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with attorneys, practice groups, administrative teams, and IT staff to gather requirements and define project goals
- Serve as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors
- Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and status updates
- Support change adoption by ensuring stakeholders are informed and prepared
Technology & Change Management
- Support requirements analysis and solution design for technology and process initiatives
- Coordinate with IT teams on system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
- Assist with IT change management activities, governance, and security alignment
- Participate in testing, QA, and validation of project deliverables
Vendor & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to support project execution
- Track vendor timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Help coordinate internal IT resources across functional teams
Process Improvement
- Apply standard project management methodologies, tools, and templates
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, documentation, and communication
- Participate in lessons‑learned and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support special projects and ad hoc technology or process initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience managing IT projects in a professional services or similarly complex environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience working in a law firm or legal services environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
Physical Requirements:
- The work is primarily sedentary.
- It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
