Overview
Muskingum Iron and Metal are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a strong understanding of safety protocols. This role involves maneuvering a skid steer to organize, load/unload, and ability to move scrap metal for further processing.
Responsibilities
- Ability to operate the skid steer to load and unload vehicles, move scrap metal, and transport materials for processing
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe by clearing debris and properly stacking materials
- Assist with tasks such as sorting, grading, and loading materials for bailing
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members
- Ability to communicate with supervisor, drivers, customers regarding inbound and outbound commodities
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Proven experience operating skid steers along with other machinery such as excavators, dozers, and loaders
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
